Recovery Compression Boots
What are Recovery Compression Boots?
Recovery Compression Boots are a form of pneumatic compression designed to help speed recovery after strenuous exercise by improving circulation and reducing muscle soreness. The leg attachments slide on like boots then fill up with air compressing the limb distally to proximally, thereby facilitating the return of metabolites, lactic acid and inflammation back into the circulatory system. This results in increased mobility, decreased pain and soreness and ultimately improved function.
How do Recovery Compression Boots work?
Muscle soreness after exercise comes from the breakdown of muscle tissue, released metabolites (like lactic acid) and inflammation. When not addressed, these byproducts remain in the legs causing the feeling of stiffness and soreness. Recovery Compression Boots are designed to address this issue by draining the legs through rhythmic pumping. Similar to a massage, each segment of the attachment will first compress in a pulsing manner and then release. This will repeat for each segment of the attachment as the compression pattern works its way up your limb, effectively mimicking the muscle pump of the legs to move pain-causing fluid and metabolites out of the limb. Treatments of just 15 minutes provide substantial results.
